Sichuan Deadly Earthquake

The most deadly earthquke hit China, Sichuan on 12 May 2008. The total death toll hit 69,130 people while the missing people had hit 17,824. People injured had also hit up to 374,031 people.

80% of the buildings were flattened, including eight schools and one hospital. There was one whole building that collapsed, Juyang High School. Almost everyone at Juyang High School had died, leaving only a few survivor. There was also one historical building partially hit by the earthquakes which has a history of more than 400 years old.

Over 900 students buried in a secondary school in the city of Dujiangyan, in Beichuan country. The 7.8-magnitude quake struck 57 miles north-west of Chengdu. Rescue teams came running after getting the news. Army troops and paramilitary Police rescued people and giving them water and food.

Television had been broadcasting advice for those trapped in the earthquake to keep clam. While survivors had been told to wait patiently for rescue.
